2014 Last Minute Holiday Gift guide

2014 Holiday Last Minute Gift Guide

It’s super late people! Christmas day is 2 days away and there are still presents to buy! If like me you were too busy to buy all the presents for people on the list and you need some inspiration here it is. I divided it by stores so you can quickly go through the door and grab everything quickly and cross it off the list.

For all your beauty presents head to Sephora for the largest selection of upscale cosmetics. The hottest presents this season are skincare related so if you want to be on trend, you should go for a cleansing device such as Foreo Luna or Foreo Mini, or masks. Don’t know what mask to pick? Fear not a moisturizing mask is always your best bet! And with Sephora’s great return policy your present will be welcome even if it is not the perfect one. Click through the slideshow for a great selection of products at every price point.

For your Book Loving friends you could order from Amazon, right? Well the best experience and the most accurate guidance always comes from a personal connection. If that is what you are looking for head downtown to McNally Jackson, a gem of a bookstore where you can find personal recommendations from the staff. The first book on my wish list this year is The Laws of Murder by Charles Finch (Book 8 of the Charles Lenox Series). I can’t wait to curl on the sofa with a homemade hot chocolate (recipe to come) and my favorite characters.

For the Foodie Friend there will be a real treat because Voila’ Chocolat just opened on the Upper West Side. If you are not familiar with the concept because you missed one of the many food events they participated in, Voila’ Chocolat is a place where you can buy wonderful truffles or decorate your own! The concept is simple, yet innovative: there is a store area where you can pick your finished truffles to buy OR you can go to the counters in the back of the store and ask to customize your chocolate. It is a great present for chocolate lovers and kids because they can lean about making chocolate and under the guidance of Chef Christophe’s team they can make delicious truffles, lollipops, bars and more!

For the Food Gadget Addict the one stop shop is William Sonoma. The latest trend is spirals of vegetables that look like spaghetti. Initiated by vegan chefs, this gluten free, vitamin rich alternative to pasta is super easy and quick to make, you just need the right tools… and if you need inspiration on how to prepare your spiraled veggies, there is also a handy cookbook with great recipes!

Finally for your Movie Nights you can stock up on the latest movies at Best Buy… in case you need a reminder, Captain America – Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy , X Men – Days of Future Past and Catching Fire are all out on DVD so hurry and make your next movie night an adventurous one!
